Bangladesh has marked a national day of mourning to honor the 150 individuals who lost their lives in recent anti-government violence. This comes amid rising demands for the immediate release of six key coordinators from the quota reform movement.
For the first time, the Bangladeshi government officially confirmed the death toll from the students’ unrest related to the quota system, which has spurred nationwide demonstrations.
Today, the country observed a day of mourning with citizens wearing black badges and participating in prayers across various religious institutions. Special services were held in mosques, temples, and churches to remember the victims and reflect on the tragic events.
