President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump engaged in a heated exchange during their first presidential debate, exchanging accusations of dishonesty and incompetence while covering a wide range of contentious issues.

The debate, marked by personal attacks and sharp rhetoric, saw Biden labeling Trump as a “sucker and loser,” referring to allegations that Trump had disparaged fallen soldiers. “My son was not a loser. He’s not a sucker. You’re the sucker. You’re the loser,” Biden asserted, prompting Trump to dismiss the claims as fabricated.

In response, Trump fired back, calling Biden a “criminal” and referring to accusations against his son Hunter Biden. “Joe could be a convicted felon with all of the things that he’s done,” Trump retorted, defending himself against Biden’s allegations.

The debate also saw Biden questioning Trump’s understanding of national security and accusing him of lacking moral integrity. “You have the morals of an alley cat,” Biden criticized, highlighting Trump’s controversial personal history.

In turn, Trump criticized Biden’s immigration policies, alleging they had compromised national security. The debate, which lasted approximately 90 minutes, showcased the intense rivalry and stark policy differences between the two candidates.

As tensions continue to mount ahead of the upcoming election, both candidates have vowed to press their case to the American electorate, promising contrasting visions for the future of the nation.

The next debate is scheduled for next month, with expectations running high for another clash of ideas and personalities as the campaign season heats up.
