In a devastating turn of events, Israeli tanks launched a fierce offensive around two hospitals in Gaza’s Khan Younis, prompting a desperate scramble for safety among the displaced residents. The assault, officially targeting Hamas militants, has resulted in at least 50 Palestinian casualties within the past 24 hours, including two children in a targeted airstrike on a residential area. The situation in Khan Younis is dire, with the city now encircled by Israeli armored forces facing relentless aerial and ground attacks. Witnesses reported a massive column of smoke billowing from areas under Israeli military operations on Thursday. Israeli claims that Hamas militants use hospital premises as cover for bases have been vehemently denied by the Islamist group and medical staff.
Simultaneously, the Chinese military has strongly refuted allegations made by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) regarding the discovery of a “massive” stockpile of Chinese-made weapons in the possession of Hamas. China maintains a firm stance, asserting that it has never supplied any weapons to conflict areas and consistently adheres to a “responsible attitude” regarding defense exports.
Earlier this month, a newspaper, citing the IDF, reported the alleged discovery of Chinese-made weapons being used by Hamas. Responding to the IDF probe, Foreign Ministry spokesman Sr Col Wu Qian categorically stated that China has never supplied any weapons or equipment to conflict areas.
