ED Raids Linked to Ex-RG Kar Hospital Principal in Financial Misconduct Probe

On Thursday morning, Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials launched search operations at the homes and offices of individuals connected to Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Hospital, who is currently under arrest for alleged financial irregularities. The searches targeted Chandan Louhya’s residence in Kolkata’s Tala area and his office in Kalindi, as well as Ghosh’s ancestral home in Chinar Park, North 24 Parganas district. According to sources, the ED team is interrogating Louhya and his wife, who allegedly received favorable treatment from Ghosh in tender allocations. Additionally, another team is investigating an organization that previously supplied equipment to RG Kar Hospital, focusing on questionable transactions between the hospital and the organization. The ED and the CBI are conducting parallel investigations into the financial irregularities at the state-run hospital. The CBI had previously arrested Ghosh along with three associates in connection with the ongoing case.
