The Maharashtra government has taken decisive action by suspending the district training programme of Puja Khedkar, a controversial IAS officer facing allegations of forging disability certificates to secure entry into the Civil Services.
In an official statement today, a state government spokesperson disclosed that Khedkar, 34, has been directed to return to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration by July 23. The academy has initiated steps to recall her for further necessary measures.
According to a letter issued by Additional Chief Secretary Nitin Gadre, the academy has placed Khedkar’s district training programme on hold pending further deliberations.
“You are hereby relieved from the district training programme of the state government of Maharashtra. You are instructed to join the academy at the earliest but not later than July 23, 2024 under any circumstance,” the letter stated.
Khedkar gained public attention following reports of her alleged requests for a separate office, official vehicle, and the unauthorized use of a beacon on her private vehicle.
The development marks a significant move by the authorities in response to ongoing scrutiny surrounding Khedkar’s conduct and the integrity of her credentials.
