Pakistani authorities have apprehended three suspected terrorists, including a high-ranking ISIS commander, during a series of coordinated raids across Punjab province, officials announced today.
The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab Police reported that the arrests were made as part of an intelligence-driven operation in the cities of Faisalabad, Jehlum, and Chakwal. The detained individuals include Abdul Wahab, identified as a key ISIS commander, and two other suspects, Saifullah and Khurram Abbas.
Authorities have confiscated explosives and weaponry from the suspects. They are currently being held at a secure location for further questioning.
This operation follows last month’s successful crackdown by the CTD, which led to the detention of 38 suspected terrorists, predominantly affiliated with ISIS and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
