The Israeli military announced on Thursday that it conducted an airstrike in the Gaza Strip approximately three months ago, resulting in the death of a senior Hamas leader, Rawhi Mushtaha, along with two other commanders, Sameh Siraj and Sameh Oudeh.
The strike targeted a fortified underground compound in northern Gaza, described by the military as a command and control center for Hamas operations. Mushtaha was noted as a close associate of Yahya Sinwar, the chief leader of Hamas, who is believed to have orchestrated the October 7 attack on Israel that escalated the current conflict. As of now, there has been no response from Hamas regarding the military’s statement.
